Please help this web site become an authority on personal travel
experiences, providing a refreshing change to snobbish professional
travel writing. There are currently three categories where you can
add your own thoughts and photographs.
Journals
Loads of people do it - keep a personal journal of holidays or travels.
Be it a very personal set of anecdotes or general observations of
life in your destination(s), this is the place to put them. Don't
worry if they're not a comprehensive overview of every little thing
you've done (not everyone has my own personal form of diarrhoea)
and feel free to edit out any potentially embarrassing moments (though
I'd prefer it if you didn't - as witnessed by my future reflections
on an acutely painful evening in Majorca). Whatever, if you feel
you have something to share with the world, please post it here!
Photo Galleries
www.ilovetotravel.co.uk aims to build up a comprehensive collection
of great photography from anywhere and everywhere. It doesn't have
to be a picture-postcard image that you'd see elsewhere (although
they're just as welcome) - anything with a unique and interesting
take on a destination, even if it doesn't have any real indication
of where it's from is supremely welcome. You don't have to supply
a large collection of photographs - just one will do.
Travel Notes
Been somewhere fab or awful but didn't keep a journal? Had particularly
fond memories of somewhere or a unique experience or just want to
share some observations? This is the area for you. From complete
city guides to the smallest details of a bar in Majorca, anything's
welcome.
What Formats Can I Contribute In?
Journals
Writings can be sent via pretty any much medium. Here's a far from
exhaustive list and if you've got a journal in a format not listed
here, just e-mail and I'm sure I can support it:
HTML
Microsoft
Word (all up to Word 2000)
Adobe
Pagemaker
Macromedia
Freehand
Microsoft
Publisher
WordPad
ASCII
Text
Rich
Text Format
Photography
Image files can be sent in any format from TIFF and PNG to Bitmap,
though the preferred format is JPEG. The final image size should
be a maximum of 150K, though don't worry as I can always compress
it to get it down. Ideal size is a maximum of 700 pixels on the
longest side. I'll create all the thumbnails and accompanying files,
though a short accompanying sentence describing the picture would
be helpful.
What Do I Get?
Erm... nothing apart from seeing your work up here and receiving
the adulation of thousands of visitors and getting a warm glowy
feeling that people might be taking your advice. www.ilovetotravel.co.uk
is a nonprofit making web site, so I'm afraid it's freebies all
around. Copyright always remains with the authors and I won't use
anyone's work anywhere else. No e-mail addresses will be given out
unless requested and I'm not going to screw you for anything. Honest.
Great, How Do I Contribute?
Simple. Just send me an e-mail at richard@ilovetotravel.co.uk.
I'll do all the work, so there's not much to lose now, is there?
